Cully's Reuse, Recycle & Remove Event
Sixty-six wonderful volunteers helped out at the Cully Association of Neighbors Earth Day Spring Clean Up, so there was very little waiting to unload.  Over 34 tons of yard debris, bulky waste, metal, styrofoam, electronics, appliances, and tires were recycled or disposed of at the April 18th neighborhood event. In addition, the "You Price It" drop-off area found new homes for many reusable items, keeping them out of the landfill, thus lessening the burden on the environment.  The Salvation Army came out the end of the event and collected the remaining reusable items.

Encouraging reuse in this manner saved on 2 dumpster loads. The NE Emergency Food Program and Clothing (NEFP) center was on site to accept food and clothing donations.   By Kathy Fuerstenau
