About the Cleanup:

Every spring, dozens of volunteers and organizations join forces to make an impact in our community at the Cully Earth Day Cleanup. This event is one of over 150 SOLVE IT for Earth Day service projects that bring Oregonians together to improve our environment and build a legacy of stewardship. Metro and the Bureau of Planning and Sustainability sponsor neighborhood cleanups every year to encourage Portlanders to reuse, recycle, and responsibly dispose of bulky household materials beyond what is picked up with regular trash collection. The goal is to divert as much waste as possible from the landfill and reduce illegal dumping by making recycling and disposal more convenient and affordable.

Cully Boulevard Alliance is leading the coordination of this year’s event, with all proceeds funding community-serving programs of the Cully Association of Neighbors. To participate, gather the items you would like to get rid of and bring them to the parking lot of Trinity Lutheran Church and School. Please enter from the front entrance on Killingsworth Street. Volunteers will be on hand to help unload vehicles and ensure that everything that can be reused or recycled is sorted into appropriate stations. Items in good condition will be available for purchase at low prices at the Neighborhood Yard Sale on the front lawn. Anything remaining at the end of the day will be collected by local charitable organizations.
