A group of graduate students at Portland State University in the Masters in Urban and Regional Planning Program (MURP) are embarking on a study of NE 82nd corridor as a culmination of their graduate program. This project is guided in part by CNN staff and identified as a priority by the CNN Land use, Transportation, and Open Space Committee (CNNLUTOP). As part of their study, the students, known as InSight Visioning and Planning, will guide a community process to establish a common view of the future of NE 82nd between I-84 and Sandy Blvd. Join the community visioning open house on Thursday, April 10, from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. Plan to stop by and learn more about the project and to provide your thoughts on what you imagine 82nd Ave could be! Refreshments provided. The event location will be posted on CNN's web calendar. For more information or meeting location, email the students at murple@googlegroups.com or CNN staff sandral@cnncoalition.org, billb@cnncoalition.org.

Streetcar System Plan Northeast District Workshop Tuesday, April 8th 7:00 - 9:00pm, Grant High School Choir Room, 2245 NE 36th Ave. Click here for more information or call Emily Lieb 503-823-7854, Patrick Sweeney 503-823-5611.

Cully Green Street Project Open House

Currently the existing conditions of NE Cully Blvd are substandard and unsafe. Families, children and seniors have to walk along the gravel edge to shop or go to school. The Cully Boulevard Improvement Project will explore designs to enhance the street, increase pedestrian and bike safety, and stormwater management known as "Green Street" design strategies. These strategies direct stormwater into the ground with bioswales and planter boxes. The plan will cover NE Cully Blvd between NE Prescott and NE Killingsworth, including the intersection of Cully Blvd with Prescott and NE 60th. Learn more about the Cully Blvd improvement process at the open house Tuesday, March 18th from 6-8 pm at Grace Presbyterian Church, 6025 NE Prescott. For more information visit the project website: www.portlandonline.com/transportation Under "Projects & Planning"

Last Chance to Comment on Cully Park: Open House March 11th
The Cully neighborhood's dream for more public parks in their parks-deficient area may be closer to reality. Community members can drop by between 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11 at Grace Church, 6025 NE Prescott. The March open house offers the community a final opportunity to comment on preferred alternatives for the new public park. The final master plan will be reviewed by City Council in Spring 2008.
